Cascade

a downpour of blue

raven’s claws, torrents of

time christen each hour

before coyote (himself) tricked skyfather (himself)

everything always happened at once.

he put a piece of himself

dressed as a lovely maiden

(I) naked in the river

when skyfather came

to the maiden (himself) coyote hid

a piece of Skyfather in a clay jar

and let it float downstream

in this river of forgetting

at the end of this life

is a waterfall

when I will become lost

in the great ocean

and will use the scars

your imaginary kisses raised

on my face to paint a

a constellation pointing back into
