Do it.
Midnight Bus stop
Towards the tavern
stumble 3 clowns
with the utmost sincerity.
Writing Poems
the ants are back
with the rain drip
poetry is a flighty bird
my attention hovers
a wet sponge in hand
to wipe them off the kitchen
counter tops again
again the little rain drops
drops what was I ?
and the ants are back
intention is a weighty
word little anvils
hammer black and
white lines into order
filigreed meaning or
a fleeing armada
a storm at sea, or
meaningless sounds
tossed adrift down the drain
holding an empty hand
some flighty meaning
escapes back into me
The Twins
a week before the fair came
to town the ghosts of light came too
religious folks call it possession, and skeptics
claim they can only drive you mad
foaming like a dog with eyes rolled back
31 villagers lost their heads, it
started with the children , who whispered
of them all white with blurry faces.
coming down the path from the fair
and turning the corner you hope
the torch to reveal that shape
as only a couple necking, or the drunk
who does not fear them one bit
he shouts “I’ll dance their asses off!”
But he is too blind to feel as
they rush through town with
trembling wings and lightning blood
kisses of epilepsy plummeting
endless corridors of mirrors.
